Fetish Fix: Liquidophilia

12 Sep

Liquidophilia is a paraphilia in which a person is sexually aroused by immersing his or her genitals in some kind of liquid. It can be any kind of liquid, most prefer just basic water and can be aroused by simply taking a bath. But there are others whose preference is a liquid which resembles milk or looks like bodily secretions.

While this may not come across as a fetish one would seek help to overcome, some may feel that they need to in order to live an ordinary life. It could become an issue when it comes to public places like swimming pools or the beach.

Fetish Fix: Robot Fetishism

5 Sep

Robot fetishism, also known as ASFR or technosexuality, is a sexual or emotional attraction to humanoid or non-humanoid robots. People with the fetish are sexually aroused by porn involving robots or by their partners dressing up as robots and behaving like one.

On the other hand, this fetish doesn’t always involve sexual arousal. It may also involve a technosexual with a strong  love of gadgets. The actual word, technosexual, comes from combining “technophile” and “metrosexual”, which was first promoted by creative professional Ricky Montalvo to describe “a dandyish narcissist in love with not only himself, but also his urban lifestyle and gadgets; a straight man who is in touch with his feminine side but has fondness for electronics such as cell phones, PDAs, computers, software, and the web.”

Fetish Fix: Sadomasochism

29 Aug

S&M stands for sadism and masochism. This fetish is quite complicated, but here are the basics: sadism is pleasure in the infliction of pain upon another person, while masochism is pleasure in receiving pain.

S&M involves the use of physical and/or psychological stimulation to produce sexual arousal and satisfaction. In most cases one partner will take the active role (top or dominant) and the other will take a passive role (bottom or submissive). S&M practitioners aren’t limited to one gender or sexual orientation – they can be heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual…etc.

On important thing to remember is that S&M is not abuse. It is consensual act between willing partners.

Fetish Fix: Autoandrophilia

22 Aug

It was reported in a few medical journals that some men are sexually aroused by impersonating the individuals to whom they are sexually attracted, that they may even permanently change their bodies to look identical to such individuals.

This desire to impersonate or become the kind of person to whom one is sexually attracted may create an incredibly dangerous identity crisis. The best-known examples of this fetish can be seen in men who are sexually attracted to women and are aroused by the idea of impersonating or becoming a particular woman. This can then manifest as transvestic fetishism and as one type of male-to-female transsexualism.

Fetish Fix: Narratophilia

15 Aug

A narratophiliac is a person that is sexually aroused by the use of profane and obscene language, sometimes to the point of orgasm. They may get aroused by either the use of obscene words or by hearing/reading a dirty story, poem or joke.

There are a few  indications that a person is a narratophiliac, like the amount of time he or she spends on using naughty words or time spent in thinking about them and fantasizing about them. If the man or woman you are having sex with is begging for more dirty talk, there’s a slight chance that they are a narratophiliac.

Sex Makes Your Brain Grow!

13 Aug

Since studies in the past have shown that stressful, unpleasant situations can hinder brain growth, researchers from Princeton University wanted to see if stressful yet pleasurable situations – like sex – would achieve the opposite effect. So, they divided male lab rats into three groups: The rats in one group were given sex partners daily, the second group got set up with with the lady rats every two weeks and the third group got nothing at all.

The rats that had sex on a regular basis showed adult brain growth, as well as an increase in the connections between brain cells. As a possible effect of their larger brains, the sexually experienced rats were less anxious and quicker to eat food in an unfamiliar environment than the sexless rodents.

So go have sex!

Fetish Fix: Somnophilia

8 Aug

Somnophilia, also know as The Sleeping Princess syndrome, is one type of paraphilia where the fetishist gets sexually aroused to the point of orgasm by looking at a person who is sleeping and is unaware of what’s happening. Somnophilia can also involve awakening the person with erotic caresses or oral sex, but not with force or violence. Somnophilia may also refer to having sex with a sleeping person or rubbing their genitals against the sleeping person’s body.

Like most paraphilias, somnophilia can be seen as either harmless or as a serious psychological disorder. Treatments are available for those that want it.

Fetish Fix: Reflectoporn

1 Aug

Reflectoporn is the term used to describe a form of exhibitionism in which the participant gets naked and then takes a photo of an object with a reflective surface in such a way that their naked body can be seen in the reflection. The photograph is then posted on a web forum or on sites like Ebay. Sometimes you can find reflectoporn on Ebay – there have images of naked men and women reflected in kettles, TVs, toasters and even knives and forks found there.

In many cases the thought that a few thousand people may hopefully see this person nude, gives a sexual high to the participant.

Fetish Fix: Asphyxiophilia

25 Jul

Asphyxiophilia (also known as autoerotic asphyxia, hypoxyphilia, or breath control play) is a fetish in which the person gets sexually aroused as he or she is slowly deprived of oxygen. While it is classified a paraphilia (or fetish), many doctors consider it a disorder due to how incredibly dangerous and potentially lethal it is.

Various methods are used to achieve the level of oxygen depletion desired, such as a hanging, hands on the neck, suffocation with a plastic bag over the head, gas or volatile solvents, chest compression, drowning and so on. You can also buy specially made sex toys for a breath control play (like modified gas masks or special suffocating corsets).

Fetish Fix: Algolagnia

18 Jul

Algolagnia is sexual pleasure gained from physical pain. This is not the same as BDSM, most algolagniacs see their actions as an active lust, not a motivational one. Many psychological researchers believe that algolagnia is a physical phenomenon in which the brain interprets pain signals as pleasurable, which leads to psychological effects. Therefore, algolagniacs experience pain in a different way than most, which can then lead to a pain fetish.

For instance, some may want to be beaten or tortured, even with the risk of severe injury and permanent physical damage. They might even desire something so serious that it could be life-threatening. But the algolagniac cannot understand that he/she is in pain, they enjoy it and crave it.
